A Devastating Turn of Events

Sept 9/12
Sept 10/12
THE DAY AFTER :(

On the early evening of Sept 10 (last night) we had a devastating storm rip through our area with winds moving in the 90-100 km/hr speed.  Lots of rain came with it and then the dreaded hail!

The wind shredded the overhang of our train station and knocked off its chimney as it flew to the other side

The mess to clean up, just so thankful it never flew into our house

All that this station has been through and it doesn't survive this!

Show and Tell

Jaren had show and tell on Monday and since the arrival of Pumpkin in July he has wanted to take her!  Being a "farm" cat I wasn't too sure how this would go!  I was pleasantly surprised :)  She is an awesome kitty!

Loving all the attention!

Exhausted after entertaining all those kids!

She may come on our next Terrace trip!!  ;)
She's a great traveler!

An Afternoon of Visiting

This past weekend we had a great afternoon visiting with a family who works with us.  Henry and his family have been with us now for about a year.  Him and his wife Helena have 4 daughters.  As soon as I brought out my camera, Judy, the youngest, just posed so nicely and let me take several good close-up pictures of her.  She especially enjoyed looking at them afterwards.  She is such a little sweatheart and is only 2 1/2 years old.

Judy wasn't quite sure what to think about Tori who she named Blackie and kept calling her that all afternoon! :)

Meet Megan

In the middle of August Ron had to put the farm dog Colby down due to some health issues that he was having.  So what is a farm without a dog??  This past week Ron found a puppy that he liked and will hopefully help keep coyotes away when she gets a little bigger.  She is a border collie/great pyrenees mix.  She is quite the sweet little thing and the boys enjoy running around with her when they go visit Grandpa and Grandma.

Landen has found a new "trike" at the farm.  This was great grandma Scobie's trike and he LOVES riding it!

Lil' Megan!  So cute!

LOTS of kisses for Jaren

Tori wasn't too interested as she is now a "mature" dog!!  :)
Funny how things change!

Pickling

Tis' the season of canning, freezing and preparing foods for the long winter ahead!  Made some dill pickles and pickled carrots this year.  Looking forward to seeing what they will taste like!

My Favorite Time of the Year

With taking out suppers in the field sometimes the boys get a bath before we go and see dad in the combine.  That way it is much quicker to get to bed once we are back home.  So our attire may consist of pj's and cowboy boots as we head to the field :)

Another beautiful September evening

Where we go......Tori goes

This time of year is my favorite with nice warm days and cool nights.  The plants seem to enjoy it the best too and start looking so full and pretty.  Then comes the frost :(  Thankfully we haven't had any yet and I am hoping it holds off for just a bit yet!

The Beauty of Harvest Season

When taking supper out to the fields in the evening this is some of the scenery that we get to enjoy this time of year!  It can be breathtaking!
