Kaitlyn Turns 5

This weekend Curtis and Julie were out with the kids. On the 21st of February Kaitlyn turned 5 years old. Since they were here we had another birthday cake for her to celebrate her 5 years of life.

Here is the very first time we met Kaitlyn hours after she was born. Jaren was 6 months old. The proud Dads!

Now here we are 5 years later!

Off to Calgary...

On Friday we headed to Calgary so we could take mom to the airport the next morning for her flight back to Terrace. Friday night we met up with mom's good high school friend, Lorna, for supper at Earl's.

Sandra and Corey
Then on Saturday, after taking mom to the airport, the boys and I went to visit some good friends of mine and spend the day visiting with them.

We got to go for lunch at the olive garden! YUMMY!!
They boys kept entertained colouring the entire meal! What little travellers I've got!

Jaren and Grandma Mary

Birthday Comes Early!

Grandma had mailed out a birthday present for Landen before she had decided to come for a visit. So we thought that since she was here and wouldn't be with us on Landen's birthday he could open it in front of her.
"A quock!!"
His exact words! :)

"See!"

Now how to tell time!

Thanks Grandma & Grandpa!

Gettin' Grandma Out!

Okay so Grandma's first chance to pull Jaren behind the ski doo was a little scarey!! I guess it is best to just close your eyes and hang on for dear life!!!
Grandma was at least having fun!!!

Let's try this again :)

Landen is in training for driving in the very near future

Tori, once again, getting a good day of exercise. She is one fit dog!

My turn, I'm pretty sure I still had one of the kids behind me ;)

We had a great family day weekend when my sister, her family and my mom came out for a visit. Mom flew in to Calgary when my sister was there on a course and they brought her out so she could spend the week with the with us and get her fill of ALL her grandkids on the weekend. The boys were not aware that she was coming - were they ever surprised! Was a wonderful weekend with many wonderful memories!

Our First Tooth - GONE!

On Sunday, Feb 20th, Jaren had the honor of losing his very first tooth! Now we even have a goofier grin!

You Know It's Cold When!

We woke up this morning to a dreaded temperature of -38 degrees Celsius with an awful southwest wind which dropped our temps to somewhere in the -42 to -44 range (but when it's that cold - WHO CARES!! It all feels the same!) So guess who got to do chores today....not Jaren!! :) I had to grab the camera cause the way my eyes felt, I had to see the ice built up on them!!

Boy do I LOVE Alberta!! :)

"MY DO IT!!"

Landen's most favorite phrase...."MY DO IT!!"
So that pretty much applies to everything in his daily life, from using the toilet to dressing in his snow pants to head outside! Mr. Independent!!

He is determined to dress himself everyday (maybe up to 3 times in one day). So this is our routine every morning.

First we have to pick out pants "just like daddy". Gotta be jeans and not comfortable fleece/ jogging pants.

They can be tricky and get caught around the bum quite often.

Next socks, just like daddy! :)

Then comes the fun of the challenging hoody!!

This can take quite awhile!
And even makes him mad!
At least we got it on the right way this time.

Mission accomplished....just like daddy! Now to tame the bed head! :)
Don't know what we would do without him ;)
