This past weekend I had the privilege to attend our 10 year reunion from dental hygiene.  It was so great to see some faces that I have not seen since we graduated.  Everyone looked awesome and hadn't changed a bit!!!!  We also got to tour around the campus of the UofA and see the brand new Dentistry building that just opened this year.  A little step up from what we worked with :)  Our reunion was held in Edmonton and we took every opportunity we could to get together throughout the weekend.  Thanks to those who made the weekend so incredible and we missed those that were unable to attend.  Maybe at our next one we'll see more!  Can't wait!

Harvest

Despite the terror and fear when that storm ripped through we have still been able to harvest in some pretty beautiful weather.

The Power of Nature

With the force of the wind in that storm we had a couple of weeks ago we had some very large hay bales get moved up to 1/4 of a mile.  That wind was STRONG!
Butted up against a telephone pole.

Bales in a field where they shouldn't have been.

They rolled all the way from that hay field beyond

Butted up together

Wrong place, quite a ways from their original location

Some hail damage on crops around our place

Summer Swimming Lessons

I realized that I still had pictures on my camera from the boys' swimming lessons at the end of July.  So here they are.  A little happier pictures than the storm pictures :)

A Devastating Turn of Events

Sept 9/12
Sept 10/12
THE DAY AFTER :(

On the early evening of Sept 10 (last night) we had a devastating storm rip through our area with winds moving in the 90-100 km/hr speed.  Lots of rain came with it and then the dreaded hail!

The wind shredded the overhang of our train station and knocked off its chimney as it flew to the other side

The mess to clean up, just so thankful it never flew into our house

All that this station has been through and it doesn't survive this!

Heavy blocks of the chimney

Show and Tell

Jaren had show and tell on Monday and since the arrival of Pumpkin in July he has wanted to take her!  Being a "farm" cat I wasn't too sure how this would go!  I was pleasantly surprised :)  She is an awesome kitty!

Loving all the attention!

Exhausted after entertaining all those kids!

She may come on our next Terrace trip!!  ;)
She's a great traveler!

An Afternoon of Visiting

This past weekend we had a great afternoon visiting with a family who works with us.  Henry and his family have been with us now for about a year.  Him and his wife Helena have 4 daughters.  As soon as I brought out my camera, Judy, the youngest, just posed so nicely and let me take several good close-up pictures of her.  She especially enjoyed looking at them afterwards.  She is such a little sweatheart and is only 2 1/2 years old.

Judy wasn't quite sure what to think about Tori who she named Blackie and kept calling her that all afternoon! :)

Meet Megan

In the middle of August Ron had to put the farm dog Colby down due to some health issues that he was having.  So what is a farm without a dog??  This past week Ron found a puppy that he liked and will hopefully help keep coyotes away when she gets a little bigger.  She is a border collie/great pyrenees mix.  She is quite the sweet little thing and the boys enjoy running around with her when they go visit Grandpa and Grandma.

Landen has found a new "trike" at the farm.  This was great grandma Scobie's trike and he LOVES riding it!

Lil' Megan!  So cute!

LOTS of kisses for Jaren

Tori wasn't too interested as she is now a "mature" dog!!  :)
Funny how things change!
