More Tori

On Saturday afternoon Tori & Keesha got to come to the farm with us to do the chores and check on the cattle and calving situations.
Tori on her first quad ride checking the cows - she seemed quite content and a real little pro. Maybe she's been quading before and we just didn't know it! Eventually she'll have to learn to lay behind me as there probably won't be room for her in front of me as she gets bigger!

The little ball of fuzz!!

Seeding Time Already?

I really think this is early this year but yes we have put in one field of peas! I think both Kevin and Jaren were on cloud 9 to be putting something into the ground. Jaren going for his first ride of the year (hopefully the novelty doesn't wear off too soon!)

Even Tori and Keesha got to come for a ride to the field. We are trying to condition Tori for all the short trips we take around here back and forth from home during seeding and harvest.
The two dogs seem to be getting along quite well. Keesha actually sniffs Tori every once in awhile and Tori now tries to play with Keesha. Her best playing partner she's found around here, besides Jaren, is Duncan our cat.

Lunch with Celeste

Since we were in Calgary yesterday for a short time, Celeste and her two adorable girls met us and we all went for lunch. For those who may not remember Celeste's twin girls, Ava and Isabella are 3 days older than Landen.

(I hope I got the girls right!!!!!!!)

Weekend with the Trenchuks

This past weekend we had a wonderful visit with the Trenchuk clan. Randy, Rosanna and Ryan came down Friday night and stayed till Sunday & on Saturday, Rob, Myla & Jenelle came for the day.

Ryan and Jaren exploring the countryside

Sunday was a gorgeous day so Jaren and Ryan played outdoors all morning. There is 2 years difference of age between the two boys.

Jaren said goodbye to his last bunny. Rosanna offered to take him and find a home for him because he was not going to be sticking around here much longer if the two adults we have are both females!!

We had a wonderful time with everyone and we always look forward to getting together!

Introducing Tori

We would like you to meet our new baby girl Tori. The boys, Keesha and I drove to Calgary yesterday to pick her up from the plane. It was a very long and probably stressful day for the little girl but today she seems to be settling in rather well to things (even her kennel!). She is just about 10 weeks old and an absolute ball of fuzz. Jaren just loves her and wants to be with her all the time. Keesha seems to not care less if she is around and so far Tori hasn't bugged Keesha too much either. Now Landen..............he doesn't even want to look at her without crying. Last night Tori barreled Landen over a few times and now he is quite scared of her. They do not like to share the same floor at the same time. Landen will have to take some time adjusting to her I think.

Making herself right at home

"Why are you putting me back into this thing??"

Playing Outside

This afternoon was gorgeous once again so right after lunch we headed outside to enjoy it for a bit and get a little more cleaned up around the yard. Before anything else though we had to have a few swings to get things going. If Landen would have stayed in the swing any longer I think he could have had his afternoon nap there!

Test driving his JD tractor outside for the first time

Holding on for dear life as not to fall on the ground and have to touch that prickly stuff!

Landen's New Found Love

As mentioned earlier Landen absolutely goes crazy for someone to talk to him on the phone. This was taken the other day when he was talking to his Grandma Sparks. She didn't know that I was recording it so this may be a little surprise to her. See Mom, he truly does talk!! We may have a business man on our hands who will sit in his office all day making some sort of deal over the phone or he could be our next farmer with a cell phone permanently attached to his ear as he is combining!

Typical Day

And please don't ask me what I do all day!! :)

Easter Sunday

Jaren had a great morning when he awoke from bed and found a trail of Easter eggs that led to a fine chocolate monster truck and chocolate bunnies. He had soo much fun scurrying around gathering the eggs and cleaning up the "mess" that the Easter bunny left behind.

Landen didn't quite get as enthusiastic as he watched his brother hustle around aimlessly throwing things into a basket that looked much like a chicken?!? He observed Jaren's every move quite carefully though.

Jaren received a grain auger from Mrs. Grabo the other day and since he has brought it home he has been endlessly augering his wheat from the gravity wagon into the semi truck. He is definitely a TRUE farmer. What a special gift and one that has been much appreciated! (Although I really don't like all of the wheat that I keep vacuuming up so often! This may soon have to be used outside as the weather is getting much nicer!)

Our little farmer

A Real Good Friday

My sister Randi came to visit us this weekend and spend a few days entertaining the boys. They sure enjoy someone else around to play with and "bug" throughout the day besides boring Mom! On Friday we had a fun-filled day with decorating Easter eggs and baking some Easter sugar cookies. We then got to spend the afternoon outside as it was very warm and sunny.

Landen enjoying the "breeze" blowing his hair around as we took in some vitamin D!
It is funny to watch Landen. He has picked up a real infatuation for our telephone. So anything that he sees that even slightly resembles our phone he puts it up to his ear and starts to talk (in hope that someone will talk back to him on the other end). So on our deck he picked up a cord from the electric dog bed and carried on quite the conversation with himself. By the time I was able to try and record it he was done or was always turning away from me! Anyways, I caught a few seconds of him so watch if you want to. Not the best quality!! :)

Red Deer Dog Show

The kids posing in front of some St. Bernards (which you can't see!!)

Yesterday we went to the Red Deer Dog Show to see many different breeds of dogs and watch them get showed in the rings. We had never been to one before and we thought it might be a fun thing to attend. I had actually decided to go to this before we had found our Keeshond puppy. Thought it might be a way to talk to other Kees breeders and actually get too know them in hopes that we might find our potential pup. I am still glad that we went, I think it made Jaren a little more excited about our puppy that will be becoming part of our family soon. He got to interact with a few puppies there and was thrilled by all their little kisses they liked to give him and Landen. Although Landen's was more of a face wash as it came from a Berenese Mountain Dog puppy!!! :) Jaren enjoyed the Pomeranian pup which wasn't so overpowering.

There were 4 Keeshonds there and here are 3 of them being shown in the ring. I can hardly wait for ours!! I wanted to take all of these adorable ones home too!!

This was an obedience test. All of the handlers of these dogs had to completely leave the ring and go into another room for what seemed like forever. These dogs hardly moved a hair! I can only hope! :)
