An "After" Picture

While taking pictures of the whole ordeal today, I noticed that there was a beautiful mirage off to the east that also deserved a photo! We don't have ANY mountains out in this country :) Looked like it today!
After - 3:45pm

Bringin' Down the Barn

Today was a day that on-top of trying to pack to get ready to fly to Terrace tomorrow we had our barn, old corrals and other buildings knocked down & cleaned up.

Before - 9am this morning

The old barn

And the work begins - 9:45am
(one building gone already!)

First push - 11am

Within about 5 minutes he had the entire barn down on the ground.

Pushing it into the pit to burn

The burning hole that was dug

Even Jaren got to help with the clean-up and pushing rubble into the fire

" Hi Mom!!!"
Now we really CAN see for miles all around our place!!

Hemaruka Christmas Supper

Last week we had our annual Christmas supper at our community hall. There seems to be more and more kids each year, which is such a good thing in these rural areas. Getting ready to sing carols.
Christmas caroling - Jaren was enjoying himself as we were singing Jingle Bells. He didn't want to be on the stage with all the other children.

We even got a personal visit from Santa himself, riding in on his trusty reindeer, Dancer

This was the closest that Landen wanted to get to Santa. Of course my batteries died when the boys tried to sit on Santa's lap so I had to borrow Elaine's camera. Hopefully she'll be able to send them to me because that may be the only one we get with Mr Claus this year :)

Now we get ready to head to mom and dad's for Christmas this week. It is hard to believe that this time of year is already here!!! Can't promise many more "exciting" posts before we fly out on Thursday, so we hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful holiday season.

Play Doh

With the weather being extremely cold for over the past week we have been trying to find some things to keep all of us (including the dogs) busy without driving each other crazy!!! Any ideas for activities would be welcome cause this could be a LONG 4 months! :) One thing the boys enjoy doing is making creations with their Play Doh, it's one activity that doesn't involve running around and chasing each other.
" Hmmmm, where to put it? In my mouth......up my nose??"

Tori quietly waiting for her little buddies to be finished so she can play fetch and chase Jaren all over!

Are you done yet??

Supper With Sankeys

Last night we enjoyed a warm evening indoors with some great company. Murray and Elaine joined us for a delicious meal of salmon, seasoned new potatoes, carrots with parsley cream sauce and spinach salad. To end the meal we had lovely sweet pineapple and grapes. After the kids were put to bed we settled in for a good light-hearted comedy on the movie channel. A wonderful night in deed!!
