Boys Week with Grandpa and Grandma Sparks

After the family reunion my mom and dad took our boys for a little holiday that they had planned for the kids.  They went down to the Okanagan for a couple of days and then came back by way of Calgary before heading out to the farm again.  It is a trip the boys will not forget!  They had a blast and I had a wonderful week to myself at home!!  ;)

Dad's Retirement Weekend in Vancouver

Last weekend on March 15th I flew to Vancouver to spend the weekend with my mom and dad and celebrate my dad's retirement from CBC.  It was a wonderful weekend and great to get away from this snow for 3 days :)  We had a lovely supper that CBC had organized out in Port Moody and then on Saturday it stopped raining and we were able to enjoy walking around downtown a bit.  Sunday was a beautiful day, with the sun shining but we ended up spending most of that day waiting at the Vancouver airport for our flights back to Calgary and Terrace.  So happy to share in such a special time with my parents!  Congratulations dad on your retirement!!  You deserve it, hope you can enjoy it!!!

Punta Cana Vacation

For our 10 year anniversary we decided to take a trip with some good friends of ours to a tropical destination.  We decided to visit Punta Cana in the Dominica Republic.  It was a nice and very relaxing holiday.  We were there for 1 week. We enjoyed the beach, some para-sailing and the 4 of us all went scuba diving for the first time in our lives!  It was great to share these experiences with Randy and Rosanna!!!  Loved every minute of it!!!

Scuba Diving

We just arrived back from a wonderful tropical vacation to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.  We were there 1 week and enjoyed every minute of it.  One of the highlights of the trip was the opportunity we had to go Scuba Diving on the Caribbean side of the Dominican.  It is an experience that I will never forget and one that we got to share with some of our good friends, Randy and Rosanna!  Once in a lifetime!!  :)

A few pictures from our second half of our vacation when we flew into Texas and spent some time with our family there. We got to see a lot of the city of Fort Worth and do many things. We experienced the Forth Worth Zoo, a longhorn cattle drive, the Water Gardens, went to an Imax, had some great meals provided for us and just enjoyed some wonderful visits! Thanks to everyone for showing us around and ALL making us feel so welcome and at home!!

Part 1: Visiting Arizona

On Feb 23rd our family flew out of Calgary, AB to head south and enjoy some nice weather in Mesa, AZ. A very good friend of mine moved down there about 2 years ago so we wanted to go and visit and see a new part of the world. We stayed in Arizona from the 23rd of February until the night of the 27th in which we flew to Texas to visit some of our family there for a couple of days.

While in Arizona we went to the Phoenix Zoo, swam in the pool, enjoyed some heat, took a day trip to Sedona and just visited some great friends!! Celeste and Nathan have 3 children; the twins (Ava and Isabella) who are only 3 days older than Landen and Theodore (who will be 2 years old in May). The kids had a blast together and Landen can not WAIT to see his girlfriends again soon!! (that is what he calls them!!!)

A Weekend to Ourselves!

This past weekend a group of us headed to Invermere, BC to have a bit of a break from day-to-day lifes and our children!!! It was such a great time with friends and the weather was PERFECT! The guys of the group: Kevin, Norman and Randy

The boys and I (and Tori) drove to Terrace to spend 2 weeks with my mom and dad. The kids did awesome on the 2 day trip in the car. It was great seeing Grandma Hovland and also reconnecting with a few people over the time that I was there. I always look foward to my visits and enjoying beautiful Terrace to its fullest! We look forward till when we can come back again.

Road Trip: Part V - Seattle

The last leg of our trip included another ferry ride back to Anacortes, WA where I met my cousin David and his wife and my husband!!! Yeah, that`s right, Kevin flew down to Seattle on Friday to meet us for the weekend there and then drive home with us. What a sweet guy!!! So we spent our last weekend in Seattle and had a wonderful time.

We then headed back to Canada on Monday morning around 8am. We were planning on making it to Calgary and then spending the night there but we forgot it was Stampede week and we were unable to get a hotel. So we ended up driving from Seattle to home that day. It only took us 17 hrs!!!! :( The boys did awesome but were glad to be home when we rolled in at 2:30am! We had a wonderful get away and were so happy to see so many people! I look forward to the next road trip already!!
