On June 21st, Landen, Jaren, Tori and I started our 2 day treck to Terrace,BC to visit with my family for just over a week.  Even though the weather in Terrace wasn't exactly "summer" weather and it rained a fair bit we all had a great time.  It is ALWAYS great to be able to spend time with so much family.  It is even better when some of your family also comes from Alberta so that you can see them too!  It is also fun to re-connect with old friends while I'm at home.

My sister and her family also came closer to the end of our stay so that we could celebrate my dad's 60th birthday which doesn't take place until September but it worked at this time of the year for us to head out there.  Don't know when the next time we'll all be together like that again, but I am looking forward to it!

So after a total of over 3400 km of driving (round trip) and I think our GPS said 34 1/2 hours of moving time we accomplished yet another journey to Beautiful British Columbia!  It's always good to go home!  Miss everyone so much!

The boys and I (and Tori) drove to Terrace to spend 2 weeks with my mom and dad. The kids did awesome on the 2 day trip in the car. It was great seeing Grandma Hovland and also reconnecting with a few people over the time that I was there. I always look foward to my visits and enjoying beautiful Terrace to its fullest! We look forward till when we can come back again.

Father's Day in Terrace

This year Father's day was spent in Terrace. We had a wonderful day together with my dad and of course Kevin. We started by going to a car show and looking at all the oldies and some new cars. This is one that Jaren kind of liked and wanted to pose in front of! Later in the day I got treated to a fun motorcycle ride with a friend of ours, Bill Kennedy. I guess I am officially now a biker mama!
The highlight of the day though was a helicopter ride for the three special guys in my life, Kevin, Dad & Jaren. They got a tour around Terrace that not everyone gets to see from that view. Jaren had a blast and now wants to become a helicopter pilot!

...And We're Off!!!!

For the last while Landen has only braved 2-3 steps between the couches or people. My mom and family have been determined to get him walking before we leave here and go home. Landen had his own little agenda though - he figured that he wasn't going to give Grandpa and Grandma the pleasure of having him walk until his Daddy arrived. I guess he figured that Daddy couldn't miss out any of the action.

Now we are off & running

(although crawling still seems to be a lot quicker and much easier everyone!!)

Daddy's Here!!

Kevin flew into Terrace on Friday to spend the weekend and Father's day with us before we make the long trek back to sunny Alberta on Monday. The boys were sooooooo excited to see their Daddy since it has been over 2 weeks since we left home (I was very happy to see him too :))

Watching and waiting to see when he would come off the plane

Not everyday when going to the grocery store do you get to see a parrot named Peppy hanging out on his truck waiting for his owner to return. Jaren didn't want to get too close and Landen didn't know what to think of the thing at all! Only in Terrace!!

We All Scream for Ice Cream!

A visit with cousin Crystal
"There's gotta be some ice cream left in the bottom of this cone somewhere!"

One thing about being on holidays is being able to be spoiled with things that we don't get to do regularly at home....like going to the local ice cream shop at 4pm (what a way to ruin supper!!) So we took Great Grandma and Grandma to enjoy some delicious ice cream cones the other day.

The look of splendid joy!

Playing at the Park

These are some shots of the boys enjoying their time at one of the local parks yesterday morning. They were both in their glory.

Fun at Lakelse Lake

On the weekend we spent a couple of days at the lake. It is such a beautiful place to be, I would love it is we had a body of water this close to where we live on the farm. I would be no other place than there on those hot dreaded days! :) Each year Jaren seems to be enjoying himself more and more as he understands and is able to do more things. He got to camp, swim, fish, even drive the backhoe, boat and just be a kid! I look forward to every year coming out here.
Jaren in his element with Uncle Walter - he just had to get into the backhoe for awhile and do some work!

Landen, Jaimie & Belle relaxing in the sun
Fun with bubbles and cousin Kara - those are the biggest bubbles Landen has ever seen!

Cuddle time with Auntie Faye

Thanks for Auntie Jenn for teaching Jaren what Smores were last summer so of course we had to have one this year at the lake too!! :)

Ta - Da!!
Now for the sugar to kick in!

Enjoying the Heat

Before some of the out-of-town family left on Sunday night we got together at mom and dad's for some more visiting and eating. It was once again another HOT day so we set up the sprinkler and a little pool for the kids to keep cooled off and the adults found shelter under the shade of the big trees in the backyard.
Crazy Uncle Allan

Landen LOVING his walker and taking it everywhere he goes.

Tori, my dirty little pup, also enjoying the shade.

Josh and Jaren - what are they up too next? They've just got that look on their little faces :)

Dustin and Jen's Wedding

Saturday, June 6th, we celebrated the wedding of my cousin Dustin and his wife Jennifer. It was a beautiful, hot day and one very pretty wedding. I am glad that we were able to be here and be part of their special occasion.
Congratulations to you both as you begin this next chapter in your lives!
