We are so thankful for the memories that we created with Bill and Joan. We are also so grateful for their time they took to come and visit us at the farm in 2006. He was a wonderful friend to my parents as well whom they enjoyed camping with in the summers. It is hard for us to understand why these wonderful people are taken from us so prematurely. I will never understand but I can not wait for Jesus to come again when we can see the ones we love again!

In Remembrance...

William Brian Kennedy

October 23, 1938 - September 29, 2011

This morning we lost a very special man in our life after he courageously battled cancer. He was a man with the most contagious laugh and the sweetest smile! I wish we could have bottled his laugh, it WAS the best!! I will miss his visits so much when I go back to Terrace. I was so lucky to have known him and have him and his lovely wife Joan as part of our lives......they were like family to us! We miss you Bill and I look so forward to resurrection morning when we are reunited with the loved ones that we have lost! Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Kennedy family during this difficult time.

Our family circle has been broken,

A link gone from our chain;

But though we're parted for a while,

We know we'll meet again.

Some day, we know not when,

We shall meet in a better land

And never part again.

We shall meet with many a loved one

That was torn from our embrace,

We shall listen to their voices,

And behold them face to face.

Sunshine pass, shadows fall,

Love's remembrance outlasts all.

Remembering a Life...

Yesterday we lost a member of our community and our church as Peggy Sankey passed away peacefully in Lacombe. She was quite the lady and over the years of living out here I enjoyed getting to know her and spending some time with her. Our deepest sympathies go out to her family, whom we consider dear to us. She will be missed, now she is resting in the Lord and waiting in peace until her Lord Jesus comes again! What a glorious day that will be!

A Gorgeous Fall Day!

Today was a remarkably hot day for this late in September. I believe it got to 33 degrees Celcius in the shade - beautiful harvest weather. So we decided to head out and enjoy it on this Sabbath.

While Jaren is at school we try to make most of some of the jobs that are just easier with one kid around! So Landen really wanted to help me can some tomotoes! He made a great washer!

He also helped to carefully peel a few of the tomatoes!

AMMYY.com Phone Scam - BE AWARE

I got a call this afternoon from a guy claiming he was a tech for Microsoft and that my Windows Internal Security System had expired. He wanted me to go a website and allow them to have remote access to my computer to help locate these internal problems. I played really dumb as I was quickly and frantically trying to figure out what this was all about. I finally convinced him that I was not comfortable doing this over the phone and computer and I would take it into my local computer place to get it looked into. I believe they get people all scared about their computers being infected and then you "buy" some upgrade for Windows and they then have your credit card number!! SO WHATEVER YOU DO - DON'T FALL FOR THIS PHONE SCAM!!!

Saturday Evening BBQ

On Saturday evening we were going to have a fire and hot dog roast but with the extreme heat and dryness we had the previous week we thought it smarter to not have a fire and just use the bbq. It was a gorgeous evening for a September night.

We even got to surprise Connie with a cake that night as it is her birthday this coming Wednesday!

Harvest Time

We have gotten into the full swing of harvest this past week. It definitely won't be a very long harvest as we got the bad hail storm in July which cleaned out a lot of the fields. So we will enjoy this season even though it will be a shorter one. The weather has been extremely hot and calm for this time of year so it makes for ideal combining conditions. Last night the boys and I took supper out to the field for the guys to have something to eat besides sandwiches.Jaren
