Mother Goose Halloween Party

Jaren & I have been attending a Mother Goose storytime since September. It is an hour of where the kids sing, listen to a couple of stories and do a craft. Because of Halloween tomorrow everyone showed up dressed in their costumes. It was quite fun to watch them and at least get a little more use out of our costume rather than a couple hours of wear-time!

Carving His Pumpkin

Tonight we decided to fill a bit of our evening carving Jaren's pumpkin for Halloween. My little helper was very good at getting the job done - so following you can see our creation of Paula the Pumpkin.

Drawing on Paula's eyebrows very carefully

Scooping out the "junk" as Jaren called it

Putting on our last little finishing touches with a crayon

"There." As it was so well put by our little guy

Our happy Paula - ready now for Halloween!
Happy Halloween to you all!
(We will post pictures of our little dressed up boy when we get ready for the big evening of trick-or-treating!)

More Pictures!!

As Grandpa Sparks said "Tiny Bubbles" Helping Grandpa learn how to pound in nails - maybe we'll get our baseboards & trim done in our house sooner than later with the help of Jaren!

Kevin and I getting a lesson from mom on filleting our salmon. You did a a good job mom, just need you to come and do the other ones we got in the freezer now! :) I don't know if Jaren knew quite what to make of this fish laying on the counter - we don't see those everyday out here on the prairies!! What a special treat when we do get it! YUMMY!!

(Thanks for the pictures Mom & Dad!!)

Together Again

So happy to be free and not stuck in a car seat!! Waiting patiently for help to get the piano off the truck and onto the tractor
Home sweet home and together at last!

A Surprise Visit

Last week we headed west to Terrace, B.C. to make a surprise visit to my mom & dad's place. I didn't want to let them know we were coming so that mom wouldn't stress about getting things done before we got there so we just showed up to her work on Friday afternoon and yes....she & dad were very surprised. It was a bitter-sweet weekend because on Sabbath morning our family dog, Kida of 15 years ended up having a stroke so we had to put her down that afternoon. She was a wonderful companion to all of us and she will be greatly missed. I am just glad that we were able to be there for my parent's and that they didn't have to go through that all alone - what a terrible thing! I look forward to the day when we NEVER again have to deal with sickness, sorrow or death!

Buddies for life - Keesha, Jaren & Kida

You will be forever missed my dear friend!! She always wore a smile when she looked at you!

Nov 27, 1993- Oct 13, 2007

On Sunday Kevin and I were fortunate to be able to head up a river close to Terrace called the Exchamsiks River on a river boat with my cousin Ronnie and a good friend of his. The scenery was just absolutely breathtaking - you forget how beautiful the country that you live in really is! The water for this river was extremely high so we were able to take the river boat some places that you could not normally go to - it was amazing!

Then Kevin spent Monday and Tuesday with my Uncle Walter scouring the rivers trying to catch a fish and thankfully they were successful and we were able to bring home a lovely Coho Salmon! Thank you soo much Uncle Walter for taking the time with Kevin - he loved every minute of it!
Another thing that you don't see everyday...........a live bear trap sitting in mom and dad's driveway. A VERY large pesky black bear has been getting into everyone's garbage this fall so they are attempting yet once again (after 3 years of trying to get him I understand!) to trap him. Our neighbors took a picture of him the night before in their yard and he was HUGE!!!
Our trip home we decided to tour through the ice fields so Jaren could catch a glimpse of some more wildlife. We saw a mother mountain goat and her kid along the side of the road, several deer and even a black bear down by the river which was the highlight for Jaren!
It was a wonderful time at home and I am glad that we were there when we were! Our little trooper did awesome with all the driving because from our house to Terrace it is a 18 1/2 hour drive! I was a little nervous but we hardly heard a peep out of him. Our trip was complete also by bringing my piano home from Terrace so now we will be able to limber up these fingers again after many years of not playing! Thanks again mom and dad for everything! Miss you already and we can't wait to see you at Christmas time!

Thanksgiving Weekend

Our little family
The "little" Letniak Family
The WHOLE Letniak Clan

We had a full family Thanksgiving weekend and we had a lot to be thankful for this year. The WHOLE Letniak clan was able to come together to celebrate a very special milestone of Grandma Letniak's 90th birthday. It was so much fun to have all the great aunts, great uncles, aunts & uncles, cousins & great-grandchildren together all at the same time. We will forever treasure the memories and pictures of everyone together.

Hearing a Heartbeat

Today was my first prenatal check-up for our 3 month mark of the pregnancy. It is hard to believe that 12 weeks has already passed us and we are heading into the 2nd trimester! I am hoping that the rest will slip by as quickly and comfortably! :) It really does help with having to chase after my busy little 2 year old to pass the time by.

For the first time today Jaren and I were able to hear the heartbeat of our newest family member. Jaren was quite excited and kept looking under the sheets and the bed in the clinic in order to try to find the baby that Dr. Malherbe had found in my belly! I just wander what goes through his little mind as he is trying to grasp the concept of a new baby and where that little person must actually be! The whole process of life is such a miracle!
Our due date for the arrival our baby is around April 10th - I am looking forward to seeing and meeting this precious child for the first time! How exciting a day that will be!
