The Littlest Cowboy

Landen has a love for these pair of cowboy boots that my mom and dad got Jaren a couple of years ago. He wears them around the house whenever he can. They're still a little too big for his feet but I'm sure that as soon as they fit, we'll NEVER get them off of him! Sportin' the boots and showing off his legs!
Yee haw!

Harvest 2009

Harvest for 2009 lasted a record 2 days!!! So glad to have that over with! :)
This is our mustard field where we tried to salvage what we could from our drought of a year - hoping next year will be a better one!"Bye, bye Daddy!"
Trying to figure out what he is going to do for the afternoon without his brother - I know....SLEEP!! :)

There goes Daddy and Jaren!

Did I Do That??

Landen adds so many smiles to our day with his quick charm and his funny sense of humour. Children are definitely a blessing from the Lord!

Sabbath Afternoon

It was such a gorgeous afternoon that we couldn't waste it indoors while Kevin went to the farm to do chores. So we got dressed and headed out for a couple of hours to enjoy these last few-and-far-between nice days.

Landen patiently waiting for Jaren to get geared up so we could go for a quad ride.

Singing while waiting, always passes the time quicker!

Hemaruka Halloween Party

Our Lion and Our Lil' Stinker Jaren getting ready to go home and hit the hay! All partied out by the time this picture was taken :)

Sitting pretty before heading off to our Halloween party
Last night we had our 1st annual Hemaruka Halloween party at our community hall. It was a great opportunity for our kids to all get together and stay warm indoors. It was also a good time to see some community members and visit with the "young & old" as the children played together in their cute costumes.

Boy Time

It was a cute scene this evening as I was watching my three guys bond! Kevin had brought home a quad pamphlet to look at and of course the boys were drawn to it like it was chocolate ice cream (well maybe not that drawn!!) It is so adorable to watch Jaren and Landen as they mature more and more everyday and long to be much like their daddy. So precious. Time is flying by so quickly with these little ones and they are growing up way to fast in front of our eyes.

Pumpkin Carving

Thursday afternoon I thought it would be a great time to spend with my oldest son carving his pumpkin. Much to my dismay he was not impressed at all. He did not want to touch the yucky stuff inside with his hands and he quite detested the smell of the pumpkin. Not the trooper that I had hoped for!! So needless to say after helping him clean out his pumpkin I had a wonderful time by myself carving to jack-o-lanterns!! :)

Detesting the smell of the pumpkin

Not wanting to get his hands gooey & obviously not enjoying our "bonding" time!!

My two creations! At least I had fun! :)

....but will I learn for next year,
probably NOT!

Making Apple Sauce

Today I finally finished all my canning for the year and we ended with a batch of apple sauce. With the kids now the job seems to be much more interesting as they want to be a part of whatever is going on, especially around the stove! Thankfully Kevin took Jaren so all I had to tend to was two little extra hands who REALLY wanted to help badly. He quite enjoyed sampling wedges of apples to make sure that they were going to make good sauce.

Let's try this one!

"Oh no!!"
This is his new expression as of the past couple of days and this is how the face looks upon saying it. I think he dropped an apple!

Jenn & Laura's Visit to the Farm

On Wednesday afternoon Jenn and Laura (Jenn's soon-to-be sister-in-law) braved the snow covered roads to come out and visit us for a couple of days before Jenn flies back to Victoria. It is always an anticipated visit when Auntie Jenn is coming to Alberta, we definitely don't get to see her often enough. We'll be lucky as we'll be seeing each other again at Christmas this year! The dreaded goodbye's :(
