Our Weather - May 30th, 2010!

Our drive home from supper last night, a constant spray of mist/rain. I feel like I'm living on the west coast again!

Goodbyes

Last night we all went to supper to say goodbye to our hired help Jacob and his family. They have been with us for over 4 years and we are sad to see him leave. We wish him all the best as he moves on to experience a new adventure in life.

Thankfully I have not YET put any flowers in my pots, maybe after this prediction of snow for the weekend they'll get planted. But just the other day my silly dog decided that this was a very nice place to have a morning nap!! The pots have been out for about 7 weeks now so I hoping we were safe from this sort of thing. Guess I was wrong. I just hope that once some plants get in there she won't want to get in an fluff up the dirt for me!!!!

Seeding has been going off and on for a couple of weeks now between the shots of rain that we've been getting. The majority of the crops have been put in. Mostly what is left is feed for the cattle. If only some of this moisture can continue throughout the summer to keep the plants watered, we would be very happy. At least they will all have a pretty good start this year.

Just Having Fun

We've had a much cooler, more wet spring this year - which has been a well-needed thing......but with that moisture comes MUD!!! So the boys just love to be out after a rain enjoying themselves getting VERY dirty!

A Day Out with Thomas

On Saturday afternoon Connie and I headed to Calgary to spend the evening and take the boys to a surprise that I had planned for them the following day. We were going to spend a Day Out with Thomas the Tank Engine! The kids had a blast and the weather was absolutely gorgeous - almost too warm at times!

Enjoying the Weather

We have had some gorgeous days of weather so it has been such a blessing to get outdoors and enjoy it. Jonathan has spent a few days out at the farm with his Grandma and Grandpa so we've tried to get the kids together as much as possible while he was here. Jonathan came with us to our soccer/ball practice
Then one day we went to a playground area to enjoy the sun and let the kids and dogs run and play.


Tori loved being with her family although she was not trusted yet off of her leash! :)
Keesha on the other hand spent most of the afternoon just sleeping under our vehicle.

Even Jonathan enjoyed walking Tori on her leash - this was quite a surprise as Tori usually really intimidates him. It was so nice to see him getting to know her better and getting more confident around her and her playful ways.

Celebrating 92 Years

Today is my Grandma Hovland's 92nd birthday. She lives in Terrace so we were unable to celebrate her big day with her and the rest of the family there. We hope she had a wonderful day.

On Saturday night the Hovland family got together to have supper and celebrate her 92 years of life. We miss you all!!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all those never-ending hard working moms out there!!! Even though our day here was quite rainy and dreary on the outside I had a wonderful day with the kids inside. We enjoyed some hot chocolate to drink and I even got to read a chapter in one of my books during the middle of the day!! Such joy!!

Jaren's Colouring Contest

In the beginning of April we had our eye exams done and while Jaren was patiently waiting he coloured a page for the Easter colouring contest. When we got home that night we had a phone call telling us that Jaren had won. Was he ever surprised and happy! So this is what he got pictured below plus a $25 gift certificate for one of the local stores.

I'm a Big Kid Now!

Landen has decided that he is at the ripe age where he wants to use the bathroom like a big boy!!! I hope that this is going to be an easy process and that he will catch on quickly. Now it is just up to me to not give up easily and be consistent with him! We'll see how this new little venture goes! It would be nice to not have to buy those expensive diapers anymore!!! :)
